Free Cookie Check
We open your home page like a first-time visitor, without accepting anything, and tell you which cookies and tracking services start before consent, whether the banner lets visitors reject, and whether there is a privacy notice and cookie policy.
Free, no sign-up. We only visit the home page, as anyone would, without clicking anything: no security scanning.
What about website security?
The Cookie Check looks at privacy on the first visit. The Quick Check analyses the website's security: headers, TLS, known vulnerabilities and an application scan, with a PDF report in minutes.
Discover the Quick CheckWhy it matters
Under the ePrivacy Directive, cookies and tools that are not strictly necessary (third-party analytics, advertising, social pixels, session recording) may only be used after the visitor consents. European data protection authorities, including the EDPB cookie banner taskforce, require rejecting to be as easy as accepting. Cookie banners are among the most common reasons for complaints and inspections.
What we check
| Check | What it verifies |
|---|---|
| Cookies | Which cookies are set before any click, first- or third-party, and what they are for. |
| Third-party services | Analytics, advertising, social, session recording, fonts and video loaded from other providers, and where they are based. |
| Banner | Whether there is a consent banner, which platform runs it and whether the first layer allows rejecting. |
| Notices | Whether the page links to the privacy notice and the cookie policy. |
Limits
We only analyse the home page and only the first visit, without clicking anything: we do not check what happens after accepting or rejecting, nor other pages. Recognition of cookies, services and banners relies on known lists and rules and can be wrong with heavily customised banners. This is not legal advice. The score uses the same scale as the Quick Check (methodology).
